Background and Inspiration
Raised in a strict religious environment, characterized by church organ and slow hymns, Tech Baker discovers the energetic house music that his brother secretly listens too. This early experience forms the basis for his unique musical expression, the contrasting world of electronic music and trumpet.
The Struggle
It is a story of transformation and self-discovery. At the age of eleven, he chooses to play the trumpet, an instrument through which he can express his deeper and unspoken world of experience. He struggles with the limiting perspective of religion and his classical music education. In the openness of the music scene and club culture, he eventually frees himself from these constraints.
The Victory
His musical journey takes off when he starts collaborating with a Rotterdam House DJ in 2016. This eventually leads to a solo act with which he gives a memorable performance at ADE in 2018. He reaches half a million streams on Spotify with his track ‘Speed of Light’, and his live set on YouTube has reached thousands of fans.
